Transgaz Adds 159 New NGVs to Gazprom Fleet

Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, LLC, a subsidiary of Gazprom OAO, has received 159 new vehicles under the Gazprom Group’s 2014-2017 program for increasing the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a fuel for their own transport companies. “Our company continues to steadily increase the share of our own transport running on natural gas. By 2017, methanee will power more than 50 per cent of the enterprise’s fleet,” says General Director of” Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol, Alex Zavgorodnev.

In the near future, Gazprom Gazomotornoye Toplivo, LLC (GMT – Gazprom Gas Fuel) will increase the number of CNG filling stations (CNG) in the south of Russia. Additionally, GMT will also places CNG filling equipment into existing conventional fuel stations of existing partners.

In addition, heavy vehicle manufacturer KAMAZ has commenced training of drivers and mechanics of vehicles equipped with natural gas fuel systems.
