The FIRST GPS was organized by Natural Gas Society (NGS) at Mahanagar Gas Ltd. (MGL), Mumbai on March 24, 2023, inaugurated by Shri Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, MGL, Mumbai

A specialized workforce with a high quantum of knowledge and skills is the lifeblood and intrinsic to the operations of any organization. More so, in Hydrocarbon sector. Therefore, capacity building, capability building, assimilation of the state-of-art technology, experimenting and innovation are critical to organizational success. Ensuring operational efficiency and enhanced conservation of available resources with a great customer focus are the mantras for success. Along with efficiency and profitability, safety is of paramount importance in hydrocarbon industry because of the hazardous nature of the products being handled.

In sync with the above, Natural Gas Society (NGS) has been organizing various conferences/ seminars / workshops on O&M activities, Safety etc. in Natural Gas Pipelines and CGD Networks for sharing the practical experience and practical ideas.

In order to add more value to such an initiatives, it would be very beneficial if the professionals from the member NG/CGD companies visit the installations /maintenance bases of the other such companies and exchange opinion and ideas about the practices being followed by the host company. This will enable sharing of experiences apart from fruitful exchange of knowledge/information and good engineering practices being followed.

Guided by this philosophy, the Natural Gas Society has conceptualized and launched the initiative of ज्ञानानुभव प्रवाह सहयात्रा [सहयात्रा=Journey together to प्रवाह=Flow; Exchange of ज्ञानानुभव=(ज्ञान+अनुभव)=Knowledge & Experience] Gyanaanubhav Prawwah Sahayatra (GPS).

The FIRST GPS was organized by Natural Gas Society (NGS) at Mahanagar Gas Ltd (MGL), Mumbai with a focus on sharing the best practices and experience on HSE Systems, Processes and Practices implemented at MGL.
