Iveco Bus announces upgraded version of the CNG Urbanway

The manufacturer part of CNH Industrial Group continues to expand its product range with the introduction of a new natural gas version of its model Urbanway, according to a company’s statement. With this addition they are also increasing the offer of NGVs, which is formed by light duty models for urban distribution such as the Daily, as well as medium and heavy duty vehicles such as the Eurocargo and Stralis, or buses for city transportation, as the Daily Minibus, Urbanway and Crealis.

The new Urbanway now has a variant that uses the last generation Euro VI CNG Cursor 8 engine, which does not require neither exhaust gas recirculation system or selective catalytic reduction or additive systems, reported news agency Europa Press.

The company explained that natural gas is an alternative to diesel fuel as it offers an advantage of lower and more stable price, resulting in considerable fuel costs savings for operators, what is one of the more relevant aspects when calculating the total cost of ownership.

“The ‘know-how and experience of Iveco Bus in vehicles equipped with CNG engines have allowed us to retain many municipalities and attract many others looking for an alternative to the diesel engines, to provide a more responsible urban transportation,” said Sylvain Blaise, Buses Global Director of CNH Industrial.
