Argentina: new natural gas station opens in the province of Córdoba
Cooperativa Eléctrica de Alcira Ltda. has officially opened its long-awaited CNG station located in the town of Alcira Gigena, in the province of Córdoba. This new service will not only provide great benefits to the owners of natural gas vehicles in Alcira Gigena, but also to travelers from the region who circulate on the Córdoba-Río Cuarto highway.
The filling station has two CNG dispensers (four refueling points), parking, shop and bar concessioned to a local business (Aloha), restrooms and a play area for children. There is also a space within the refueling bay where it is planned, in the future, to include the supply of energy for electric vehicles. In addition, there is a sector for the sale of bottled gas (through UCOOPGAS).
The work required an investment of approximately 60 million pesos, an accessible figure since a notable reduction in costs was achieved thanks to the use of the cooperative’s own land and the use of the concrete provision service that is prepared in the cooperative itself.
In the opening ceremony, the President of the Board of Directors of the cooperative Raúl Bertola highlighted that the undertaking was carried out with its own resources, thanks to the support of the entire corporate body. “We try every day to optimize the quality of services and reduce costs, for the benefit of associates,” he stressed.
“The policy assumed by the Board of Directors is oriented not to compete with the private initiatives that take place in the city. Fundamentally, we think about satisfying the specific needs of the associates,” added Bertola.
