After Petrol-Diesel, CNG PNG prices added woes to common people
New Delhi: People in big cities are now going to face a major blow to gas price inflation. In fact, under the recent information, the Government has increased the price of natural gas by 62 per cent. Yes, and that could lead to a sharp increase in the prices of gas like CNG and PNG used in cities. Last Thursday evening, the government has hiked the price of natural gas by 62 per cent. Let us also tell you that natural gas is used in fertilizers, power generation and CNG gas production.
The price of CNG, PNG and fertilizers is also expected to pick up after the decision. This is said to be the first price hike since April 2019. Let me tell you that gas prices have gone up due to price rise in the international market which is considered to be the standard. According to a news agency report, the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) has said that “natural gas produced from areas allotted on enrolment basis to companies like Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) of the public sector will cost $2.90 per 1million British thermal units (mmBtu) for the next six months from October 1.”
Similarly, the price of gas for the Deep Sea field has been increased from $3.62 per mmBtu to $6.13 per mmBtu. It is said to be the highest price reliance industries gets for deep-sea gas like KG-D6. As a result, the price of LPG like CNG and piped PNG in cities like Delhi, Mumbai is now expected to go up by 10 to 11 per cent.
