Prices remained stagnant in Delhi but we can expect them to change soon as we haven’t seen a change in past few days.
08/06/2022: Petrol in Delhi today costs ₹96.72 and diesel ₹89.62 and in Mumbai petrol stands at ₹111.35 and diesel at ₹97.28. While in Bangalore diesel stands at ₹87.89 but CNG costs ₹88.00. Prices remained stagnant in Delhi but we can expect them to change soon as we haven’t seen a change in past few days.
Last month on 22nd May, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had reduced the excise duty on diesel by ₹6 and petrol by ₹8. The variation in fuel prices are seen across the country due the varied VAT levied on fuel by different state governments, also the freight charges differ contributing to the differences in fuel prices across the country.
Currently global fuel prices are seeing a upward trend with will eventually translate to rise in fuel price in India soon. With COVID curbs being lifted around the world, the demand and cost of fuel will rise.
