Cooking gas to weigh on your pockets! LPG cylinder price hiked for 2nd straight month

Looks like, after petrol and diesel, the cooking gas is set to become expensive as the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) has hiked the prices of non-subsidised LPG in the range of Re1 to Rs4.50 per cylinder across major metro cities. Interestingly, this would be the second-consecutive month hike in LPG cylinder.

A non-subsidised LPG cylinder in 14.2kg is priced at Rs594, up by Re1 from Rs593 of the previous month. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the price was raised by Rs3.5 to Rs594 per cylinder against Rs590.5 of June 2020.

Cities like Kolkata and Chennai saw much higher hike compared to the above two-mentioned cities, to the tune of Rs4.5 and Rs4 per cylinder respectively. In Kolkata and Chennai, the 14.2 kg cylinder is available at Rs620.50 and Rs610.50 compared to June month’s Rs616 and Rs606.5 respectively.

Going forward, the LPG price in 19kg cylinder was set at Rs1,135.50 in Delhi, Rs1,197.50 in Kolkata, Rs1,090.50 in Mumbai and Rs1,255 in Chennai for the latest month.
