Gazprom optimizes NGV refueling network in Czech Republic

Gazprom NGV Europe (NGVE) plans to extend their natural gas refueling network in the next years and will invest in station upgrades in order to make their portfolio more attractive for truck and bus operators.

CNG stations in Kolín and Opava have been upgraded with more capacity and additional fueling spots in order to serve increasing bus and truck customer demand. The environmental benefits of natural gas powered public transport and logistics are more and more acknowledged, thus NGVE wants provide their customers a tailor-made refilling infrastructure.

Furthermore, the company expects to open two new CNG stations in Czech Republic by the end of the year, and also plans a further expansion of their refueling network for next year.

“Natural gas mobility in the Czech Republic is a clear success story with steadily growing sales volumes over the last 15 years and one of the best CNG station network in Europe. Together with a continuous political support – like with the recently approved National Action Plan for Clean Mobility from the Czech Government – and attractive NGVs especially for the environmentally important public transport and logistic sector, NGVE still sees a big potential for CNG/LNG in the country. Thus we want to support this good development and will invest further in our station network,” said branch manager Tobias Jacobs, responsible for the Czech Gas for transport business.
