Spain: freight transport association encourages conversions to CNG
CETM-Madrid has signed a collaboration agreement with Ecotruck, a company specialized in the conversion to diesel/natural gas dual fuel technology, to facilitate the adaptation of vehicles so that they can operate with CNG. With this deal, the CETM seeks to expand the specialized services for its associates and help them comply with the new environmental policies that, in the Community of Madrid, have a special significance.
In this sense, vehicles fueled with natural gas can access certain advantages by obtaining the ECO environmental label of the Spanish General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), such as tax bonuses in the IVTM, discounts on SER rates, extended hours of access to Central Madrid or the possibility of circulating during episodes of high pollution.
The agreement was signed by Cristóbal San Juan, president of CETM-Madrid, and by Miguel Angel Martín, representing Ecotruck, a company that uses the most advanced technology to adapt diesel vehicles to natural gas, from vans to tractors.
Aware of the benefits of driving an alternative fuel vehicle with the ECO label, more and more carriers and drivers are opting for the transition to NGVs. To analyze this extremely positive scenario for natural gas and sustainable mobility, and evaluate the latest in alternative fuel technologies for road and sea transport, AltFuels Iberia 2020 will be held on 5-9 October at IFEMA Trade Fair Center in Madrid.
The event will feature first level conferences and exhibition of vehicles of all kinds, refueling stations, components, plants, engines terrestrial and marine, as well as the entire alternative fuels industry universe showing the latest technological developments, with multiple networking and business options, and new advances.
