Spain: first public natural gas station becomes operational in Cartagena
Naturgy has opened a new refueling facility on Pedro Sánchez Meca Avenue in Cartagena, a strategic location close to the port activity. This is the first public natural gas station in Cartagena and is joining the filling station that the energy company currently has in the Murcian district of Era Alta and that supplies natural gas to both public fleets and private vehicles.
In addition, it is expected that in the coming months Naturgy opens a third natural gas station in Molina de Segura, which will allow refueling of both light and heavy vehicles since it will feature dispensers supplying both CNG and LNG.
The opening of this new natural gas station is part of the company’s mobility promotion project, which aims to enhance the use of natural gas as the best sustainable alternative to fossil fuels derived from petroleum. It also represents a further step for Naturgy in its commitment to move forward in the transition to clean energy models in transport that contribute to improving air quality and, therefore, people’s health.
The new map of NGV stations in Spain will allow to meet the increasing demand in the coming years and strengthen the availability of this fuel in the market, given the growth that natural gas vehicles are experiencing.
