Pakistan importing LNG to meet future energy requirements’

Petroleum Minister says Pakistan is working on two energy projects including Pak-Iran gas pipeline, TAPI gas pipeline.

Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources ShahidKhaqanAbbasi says Pakistan is importing LNG to meet its future energy requirements.

Addressing a seminar on ‘Energy Conservation’ in Islamabad Wednesday, he said Pakistan is working on two energy projects including Pak-Iran gas pipeline and Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. 

He said, Pakistan could not make progress on Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline due to international sanctions on Iran. 

He said we can move forward on this project after lifting the sanctions on Iran.

Shahid Khan Abbasi said TAPI is an important energy project for Pakistan to overcome its energy shortage.
