ONGC CMD nominated to governing body of CSIR

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his capacity as ex-officio President of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, has nominated ONGC Chairman and Managing Director Dinesh K Sarraf as the member of the prestigious governing body of CSIR.

59-year-old Sarraf has been nominated to the governing body of CSIR for a period of three years, Bureaucracy Today has learnt. 

The governing body is the apex body of CSIR for all decision making processes.

The CSIR is a leading scientific Research and Development organization set up with a mandate to promote guide and coordinate scientific and industrial research in the country with its 38 R&D laboratories and Institutes. Eminent and learned personalities from various fields are nominated to the governing body as members.

Sarraf has an experience of over three-and-a-half decades in the oil and gas industry. He is also an associate member of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India and the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
