New Alternative Fuel Basket project presented in Argentina

On the occasion of the International Week of Sustainable Mobility, the Ministers of Transport Mario Meoni and of Environment and Sustainable Development, Juan Cabandié, visited the premises of the Argentine Federation of Business Entities of Freight Transportation (FADEEAC) to learn about the activities oriented towards sustainability and training. During the meeting, the federation presented the project of the Alternative Fuel Basket and the Circular Economy Roundtables, among other actions related to sustainability in the field.

The energy basket that the sector is betting on includes CNG, LNG and BIODIESEL 100, and its final objective is to certify the production of a pure biodiesel with international standards so that the national cargo transport begins a transition process towards a basket of sustainable fuels.

“This is an extraordinary example of what Argentina can be. The incorporation of technology is central to making the entire system efficient. Today they have shown us from technology applied to development and training of drivers, to the possibilities of energy transformation into biofuels and the use of biofuels. We want to promote a path of innovation applied to the integral development of Argentina and to each mode of transport so that this improvement in logistics has a direct impact on Argentine production and allows a harmonious development of the entire country,” said Meoni.

“Within the framework of the International Sustainable Mobility Week, we met with the Federation of Business Entities of Freight Transportation that presented the Green Range program. The initiative consists of promoting a sustainable and intelligent transport to reduce polluting emissions. This project is an example of innovation and the commitment of the productive sector in the fight against climate change,” added Cabandié.
