Malaysia’s Petronas achieves first gas for floating LNG facility
Malaysian state-owned oil firm Petroliam NasionalBhd said on Thursday it achieved first gas this week for its first floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in offshore Sarawak, east of the country.
Petronas said in a statement the LNG facility will soon go into commercial operations and move its first cargo.
The company on Wednesday reported that third-quarter profit nearly quadrupled to 6.1 billion ringgit ($1.39 billion) on lower net impairment on assets and higher average prices for most products.
