Karnataka to set up CNG supply joint venture with GAIL

The Karnataka government has decided to set up a joint venture company with GAIL India Ltd for compressed natural gas (CNG) distribution in Bengaluru and other selected cities in the state.

The state government decided to constitute and invest in Karnataka Natural Gas Ltd (KNGSL) in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

“We will invest about Rs.100 crore, about 25%, and another 75% will be invested by GAIL,” said T.B. Jayachandra, minister for law, after the meeting.
