Japan’s JXTG to start retail city gas sales in February

JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy aims to gain 100,000 gas customers in the near future by offering lower fee models than those of Tokyo Gas which has about 11 million users, a company spokesman says

 * Japan’s top oil refiner JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy Corp, which is under JXTG Holdings Inc, says it will start retail city gas sales in areas that are home to Tokyo Gas Co Ltd from Feb. 1.

* JXTG Nippon Oil & Energy aims to gain 100,000 gas customers in the near future by offering lower fee models than those of Tokyo Gas which has about 11 million users, a company spokesman says.

* The company has won a total of 540,000 retail power customers by the end of December since the power sector was fully liberalised in April 2016, about a half of its target of 1 million users, the spokesman says.
