New Delhi: India’s Oil & Gas sector is at a unique place in its development journey today with the natural gas sector ready for massive investments backed by the right policy and technology, according to Locusview Cofounder and CEO Shahar Levi. “We entered the India market after looking at the unique combination that the country has in the gas industry,” Levi said, speaaking at the curtain raiser of the ETEnergyworld Annual Gas Conclave, an exclusive virtual initiative aimed at bringing the key stakeholders of the gas industry together for discussion on the biggest challenges and opportunities in the sector. “On one hand the energy sector here is booming and we are looking at massive investments in the gas network, and on the other it is a challenge to invest capital to build this huge network because it has to be done in an efficient and safe manner,” Levi said. He also added that India has a unique opportunity to do this in the right way and that means ensuring this infrastructure is built on time, on budget and in a safe manner. “It requires companies to have not just the project information but all the data needed to operates and maintain the network for many decades,” Levi said The curtain raiser of the main event also witnessed participation from D K Sarraf, Former Chairperson of Petroleum & Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) and Former Chairman & Managing Director of Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC). The Conclave — launched by ETEnergywiorld jointly with GE, Locusview, GAIL (India), Pipeline Infrastructure (PIL) and Shell — is a two day event that will be opened on Thursday.
