Hydrogen fuel bus powered by waste in new trial by Sentient

Pune: The KPIT-promoted research facility Sentient Labs will test out its hydrogen fuel cell innovation by powering a bus. The project will be carried out in collaboration with Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) and the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL). Sentient Labs has stated that the research aims to produce hydrogen from agricultural waste, deployed towards transit solutions for eco-friendly ways to produce hydrogen fuel cells and solve waste disposal issues. The lab will hold the trials on December 15 with its partners at the Hinjewadi facility. It was just in August this year that ARI Pune along with Sentient Labs developed the technology to generate hydrogen from agricultural residue, to be used as fuel. Claimed to be the first such technology in the world, the scientists who worked on it said it would emerge as an excellent solution.
