Honda Cars India Launches CNG-ready Honda Amaze

Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has launched its CNG-ready variant of the family-sedan Honda Amaze. The new variant Amaze 1.2 S MT Plus (i-VTEC) is a modified petrol Honda Amaze set up with a Honda-approved Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fuel option. The new variant with bi-fuel option of petrol/CNG is being offered in the market to meet the needs of customers who are looking for an alternate fuel vehicle with high performance and low running cost.

The CNG kit will be fitted to the new variant 1.2 S MT Plus (i-VTEC) at Honda Dealerships located in cities where CNG fuel is available in the country. The CNG-ready variant has been specially tuned during production for CNG compatibility by way of optimizing the suspension, application of CNG specific engine components & specially prepared wiring harnesses to ensure high level of quality. The Amaze will come with a 2-year warranty as standard value for all buyers.

Commenting on the introduction of the new variant, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India said, “We are extremely happy to bring the Amaze with a CNG option for our customers, which will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco-friendly.”

The price of the new variant (ex-showroom Delhi) is INR 653,900 (approx. USD 10,500) including CNG kit and installation.
