Get your CNG stickers
Come Tuesday, owners of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) run vehicles will get stickers that would help get them exemption from the odd-even car rationing plan.
The stickers would be issued by the Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL), the sole supplier of green fuel in Delhi and in other areas of the National Capital Region. On Sunday, IGL said in a statement that in accordance with the directions of the Delhi government exempting the CNG vehicles carrying special stickers issued by IGL from odd-even rule, it will provide the stickers at all CNG filling stations in Delhi NCR.
Owners of CNG-run vehicles can get the stickers pasted on their windscreens from 6 a.m. on Tuesday, December 29. The vehicles, however, must have an authorized CNG kit installed to get the stickers.
IGL has nearly 300 CNG filling station spread across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad. The number of vehicles that run on the clean fuel is about five lakh in Delhi NCR.
An IGL official said that the stickers would be pasted only on those vehicles that have ‘compliance plates’ that indicate that the vehicle has a valid CNG cylinder.
