GAIL gas pipeline work resumes

The stalled works of the laying of gas pipeline by the Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) have resumed in the district with the works commencing in the four-km long stretch at Ambalathara in Hosdurg taluk. The works of the ambitious Kochi-Mangaluru gas pipe line project began after the State government evinced keen interest to resume the works.

Hassle-free availability

The aim is to ensure hassle-free availability of the essential cooking gas in future.

Total length

The proposed gas pipeline has a total length of 508 km in the State out of which 83 km passes through the district, official sources here said adding that works of 11 km pipeline has been so far completed in the district.
