First LNG Station Opens in Poland

Poland’s and Central Europe’s first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) filling station, built and supplied by natural gas fuel supplier Cryogas M&T Poland, has been officially opened by owner PKG Srem. The municipal services utility will use the station mainly to serve their LNG-powered waste disposal fleet but it is also open for all NGV customers.

The facility is situated next to the Mateuszewie landfill on the road connecting Srem with Zaniemysl and is open round the clock for regular customers and at set times for irregular clientele. The station provides fast-fill facilities for LNG and CNG and is yet another link in the European network of natural gas stations gradually expanding to accommodate demand from LNG-fuelled transportation fleets.

Currently, PKG Srem’s fleet consists of several IVECO Daily, Eurocargo and recently Stralis LNG. The utility plans to acquire more natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in 2016.

Cryogas has been contracted to supply gas for three years.
