Dubai Converts 106 Civil Defence Vehicles to CNG

Emirates Transport (ET), through it’s subsidiary Etihad CNG Conversion Centre, has completed the modification of 106 vehicles belonging to the Department of Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, to operate on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The conversion of the 106 vehicles to natural gas, adds to the growing success achieved by the centre, which was established in 2010, managing to convert more than 5,000 vehicles to operate on natural gas, to date.

Amer Al Harmoudi, Executive Director of Technical Services at ET, stated that the Centre aims to promote sustainable development solutions and to encourage clients of various categories to adopt environmental practices, such as converting vehicles to operate on CNG, as a means of reducing the UAE’s carbon footprint.

Al Harmoudi added that the centre offers to convert vehicles to natural gas services within a period not exceeding four hours, according to the highest international and local standards.

For his part, Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of the Civil Defence in Abu Dhabi, expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts made by the Etihad Centre for converting vehicles to natural gas in order to enhance sustainability of the environment and offer added value to companies, on both the environmental and economic levels.

Emirates Transport, which was established in 1981, is the trade name of Emirates General Transport and Services Corporation, which is fully owned by the UAE Federal Government and operates under an independent budget.
