Dada Motors launches CNG autos in city

In compliance with the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court which banned the plying of diesel auto-rickshaws as they create air pollution, Dada Motors today launched an environment-friendly compressed natural gas (CNG) three-wheelers for convenient mass transportation.

The CNG auto was inaugurated at the Dada Motors showroom. DTO Gurmeet Singh Multani and ACP Traffic Harbinder Singh were the special guests on the occasion. Laying emphasis on the need for pollution-free vehicles, DTO Gurmeet Singh said it would benefit the people of the area. It gives a mileage of 48 km in 1kg of CNG. The product combines the benefit of improved combustion and low emission of poisonous smoke.

“We would like to see significant sales numbers. Even today, many bookings had been done but we are waiting for the number to double,” said Chirag Chawla of Bajaj Autos. As per the directions issued by the High Court, Additional Director General of Police, Traffic, Punjab has given instructions to all the Police Commissioners (Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Amritsar) to ban the plying of diesel auto-rickshaws on roads. The step will increase the demand for CNG autos in the city, he added.
