CNG for Hague, Netherlands
Dutch renewable natural gas (RNG) provider OrangeGas has opened the first Compressed Natural Gas fuelling station in The Hague, Netherlands. The installation is co-located with traditional fuels at the Total De Uithof self-service filling station, the result of a joint initiative between Total Netherlands and OrangeGas that will provide almost 100% clean fuel for Connexxion taxis in the city.
In the Netherlands, about 11,000 vehicles currently driving on green gas, from the Volkswagen UP to vans, trucks, and now also the taxis of Connexxion. The city described the fuelling station as a milestone in the development of sustainable mobility in The Hague.
Total Netherlands is considering further joint installations with OrangeGas. “This addition to our service is an important step in expanding our product range”, said Vincent Leroy, Director Retail. “‘We have chosen to cooperate, because we would like to give meaning to our mission of Positive Energy. With the opening of this first green gas delivery point, we endorse the view that transport in our eyes is even more sustainable.”
By end 2015, OrangeGas will have almost 65 green gas tank locations.
