CNG filling stations remain shut for a day

Over 50 CNG filling stations in Surat and south Gujarat region remained shut for a day demanding their long-pending demands with the Gujarat Gas Limited (GGL) on Monday.

The South Gujarat CNG Franchisee Association (SGCFA) had given a one-day strike call starting from 6 am on April 24 till 6 am on April 25.

The SGCFA members have threatened that if their demands are not met by the GGL, the filling station will go on an indefinite strike starting from May 1.

The CNG filling station owners have been protesting against state-run GGL for not increasing the commission on CNG and allotment of filling points at the petrol pumps. CNG filling stations in Surat, Bharuch, Ankleshwar, Navsari, Vapi and Valsad will join in the strike and they are supported from the filling stations in Surendranagar, Vadodara, Amreli, Limbdi, etc.
