Bulgarian Municipality Issues Tender for 8 CNG Buses

In the Bulgarian municipality of Gabrovo, Municipal Passenger Transport Company Ltd has issued a tender document for the supply of eight low floor buses powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). The value of the acquisition is estimated at 3.47 million levs (USD 2 million/ EUR 1.79 million), excluding VAT.

According to the Notice of Tender (Procurement ID # 000440) issued February 28, the project benefits from the financial support of the Operational Program “Regions for Growth” 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund. The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of sustainable urban transport in Gabrovo by investing in improving the transport infrastructure and systems with a positive impact on the quality of passenger service.

The 100% low floor, solo / 12 (+/- 1) m / two-axle urban category M3 buses should meet at least EURO 6 emission standards and have a minimum warranty period of 2 years.

The vehicles should accommodate at least 80 passengers with capacity to seat a minimum of 20 passengers.

Bids will be ranked based on price which will form 50% of the final mark, energy efficiency, warranty period and other technical criteria.
