Andhra Pradesh: Piped Natural Gas scheme launched in Dokiparru

A tiny village in Krishna district, Dokiparru has entered the record books on Monday by becoming the first village to get connected with the Piped Natural Gas (PNG) facility in the Andhra Pradesh. The project was launched by the Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) chairman PP Reddy and managing director PV Krishna Reddy. Incidentally, MEIL bosses inaugurated the potable water to every home in the village on the same day last year. The village with nearly 1500 houses would get uninterrupted PNG supply through dedicated pipelines.

The satellite PNG station was commenced by Rama Reddy, wife of PP Reddy and Sudha Reddy wife of PV Krishna Reddy. PP Reddy switched on the main regulator and distributed the cooking gas. The villagers celebrated the historical moment.

Speaking on this occasion, PP Reddy said that it has become a tradition for their firm to start every new project from their native village. “This is the first time in south India that PNG is being supplied through satellite method,” said PP Reddy. MEIL MD PV Krishna Reddy expressed happiness with the way they have adopted to the new technologies and innovations to bring comforts to the people. “All the households in the village to get uninterrupted PNG supply for 24 hours and 365 days. It is less dangerous compared to LPG, 40% less cost,” said Krishna Reddy. Village elders Rami Reddy and Shiva babu thanked PP Reddy and PV Krishna Reddy.
