Algeria’s gas exports fall to 51.5 billion cubic metres in 2018

Algeria exported 51.5 billion cubic metres of gas in 2018, down from 54 billion in 2017, state energy firm Sonatrach said on Tuesday.

Of the total exported last year, 75% was through pipelines and 25% via liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments, Sonatrach said in a statement.

Both Italy and Spain were the top two destinations with 35% and 31%, respectively.

Algeria owns three pipelines: Enrico Matei that delivers gas to Italy via Tunisia, Pedro Duran Farell to Spain via Morocco, and the Medgas delivers directly to Spain.
