Abu Dhabi Civil Defense converts over 100 cars to run on natural gas
The Etihad CNG Conversion Center, a subsidiary of Emirates Transport (ET), has completed the modification of 106 vehicles, belonging to the Department of Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi, to operate on natural gas. This conversion adds to the growing success achieved by the conversion entity, which was established in 2010, managing to switch more than 5,000 vehicles to operate on natural gas to date.
Amer Al Harmoudi, Executive Director of Technical Services at ET, stated that the Center aims to promote sustainable development solutions, and to encourage clients -of various categories- to adopt environmental practices, such as converting vehicles to operate on natural gas, as a means of reducing the UAE’s carbon footprint.
The official also explained that the Center converts vehicles to natural gas technology within a period not exceeding four hours, according to the highest international and local standards.
For his part, Colonel Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Ansari, Director General of the Civil Defense in Abu Dhabi, expressed his appreciation for the tireless efforts made by the Etihad Centre for converting vehicles to natural gas in order to enhance sustainability of the environment and offer added value to companies, on both the environmental and economic levels.
