State cabinet gives nod to laying of gas pipelines in Ranchi

The state cabinet chaired by chief minister Raghubar Das on Monday approved laying of gas pipelines by the Gas Authority of India (GAIL) in the state. Aimed at connecting households with gas pipelines, it will transform the cooking experience in the state’s households. The GAIL will soon begin the work of laying gas pipelines.

The cabinet gave its go-ahead to a memorandum of understanding between Power Finance Corporation Limited, the state government and Jharkhand BijliBitran Nigam Limited for the execution of integrated power distribution scheme. The scheme aims to strengthen the sub-transmission and distribution networks in urban areas, metering of transmission, distribution transformers, feeders and consumers, promoting use of information technology in power distribution.

Two road widening, strengthening and re-construction projects were sanctioned by the cabinet. Rs 47.06 crore was sanctioned for Palma path in Barkatha block, Hazaribag and Rs 34.47 crore for Kharsawan-Kuchai-Dalbhanga road in Saraikela-Kharsawan district. The sanctioned amount includes funds needed to acquire additional lands for improving the conditions of the roads.

Jharkhand textile, apparel and footwear policy 2016 was approved. The policy has been designed to regular the trade in textile, apparel and footwear. The trade brings significant revenue for the government.

The government has decided to extend the supply of eggs and seasonal fruits to children aged less than 3 years in anganbadicenters of Ranchi, Dumka and East Singhbhum, to all districts. Poor nutritional standards in children can be checked with the supply of eggs and seasonal fruits.

The supply would be made three times in a week.
