Scania delivers natural gas concrete mixers to Asturias-based company
Comercial Iberoamericana de Servicios, S.A. (Comibersa), belonging to the Masaveu corporation and mainly dedicated to the logistics of the purchase management of vehicles, recently acquired five Scania concrete mixers powered by compressed natural gas for General de Hormigones, a company that is part of Masaveu’s Industrial Division. Comibersa’s fleet is made up of a total of 106 vehicles, of which 27 are Scania.
“We have worked together with Scania for a long time and we are satisfied with the service and quality of their vehicles that meet the demands of durability, power and reliability. In addition, within our policy of commitment and concern for the environment, we have seen an opportunity in the construction and we are convinced that, in this sector, it is also possible to contribute and win. Therefore, we have opted for natural gas as a solution for our vehicles,” according to Comibersa.
With these concrete mixers, Comibersa demonstrates its commitment to the environment and to a responsible transport through the use of alternative energies that, in addition to being quieter, also have an ECO label, allowing to work in urban areas with access limitations in pollution alert situations. In addition, the engines of these vehicles are 100% suitable for the use of biomethane as soon as it is available, a fuel that represents a real opportunity to reduce emissions and generate a circular economy.
Belonging to the XT range launched by Scania in 2017 and designed for the construction segment, the five concrete mixers feature a 13-liter G410 engine, the same load capacity as a diesel mixer and an integral cabin adapted to the driver’s needs in this type of work. They are equipped with a Scania Opticruise gearbox with a counter-axis brake that reduces the actual gear change time. They also include the innovative on-demand clutch pedal system for more precise maneuvers, which can be actuated or not, depending on the driver’s needs.
In addition, these trucks have an 8×4*4 (rear tridem) axle configuration with last lift steer axle, providing an optimized turning radius that improves maneuverability in urban areas without neglecting the most demanding jobs. The lifting axle allows savings in tire wear when the vehicle is not loaded.
The delivery of the vehicles was carried out through the official Scania Hispania dealer in Asturias. Drivers received Scania Driver Training to immediately increase fuel efficiency, road safety and sustainability, and learn how to refuel safely, while reducing downtime and operating costs.
